The Twin Counties has a rich array of local craft breweries, and one of the newest is NC Beer Factory. The NC Beer Factory is a veteran-owned brewery located on the south side of Rocky Mount, aiming to serve the communities around south Rocky Mount, Elm City, and Sharpsburg.
More than anything, what sets NC Beer Factory apart is the sense of community and hospitality found there. They offer a variety of craft beers, but the owners, Randy and Roxanne, want to create a space where people want to hang out.
As part of the atmosphere, NC Beer Factory welcomes people to bring in food from local restaurants or to bring their own food to cook on their grills. They also host food trucks whenever they have special events.
In addition to welcoming customers in as friends, NC Beer Factory aims to connect with and serve the community. In the six months or so they’ve been open, they have served the community by partnering with a variety of organizations including the Boys & Girls Club and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
In February, they hosted one such event: a chili cook-off to benefit Sleep in Heavenly Peace where they raised over $1500 to provide beds for local children in need. They welcome customers to share their experiences and information with other ways they can serve the community.
Their beer offerings include their signature Lord Winston, which is based on Randy’s first home brew, the Sir Rocky Scott, which is a Scottish ale, and several more beers. They also offer patrons the opportunity to see the brewing process from time to time.
Last week, we featured NC Beer Factory on our TC Spotlight podcast, which you can listen to if you want to learn more about the culture at NC Beer Factory, the beer-making process, and more about what they have going on.
They celebrated the craft beer community in Rocky Mount and the culture of collaboration they have experienced with other local breweries like Koi Pond.
NC Beer Factory is located at 500 S. Wesleyan Blvd in Rocky Mount, and it is open Thursday from 4-10 p.m., Saturday 2-10 p.m., and Sunday from 2-7 p.m.
