Wine Women & Shoes Returns to Rocky Mount, Supporting Local Youth with Fashion, Wine, and Purpose
TWIN COUNTY MEDIA
One of Rocky Mount’s most anticipated annual events, Wine Women & Shoes, returns to the Rocky Mount Event Center on Wednesday, May 1, for an unforgettable evening of fashion, philanthropy, and celebration—all in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region.
Part of a nationally recognized event series, Wine Women & Shoes offers guests a glamorous night out while making a tangible impact in the lives of young people across Nash and Edgecombe counties.
This year’s fashion show will feature stunning looks from Clair de Lune, Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, The Boutique at John’s Gifts, and Sonique Stephen, showcasing regional style and elegance. Attendees will also be able to shop exclusive offerings from local businesses in the Marketplace, including MJ Styles, Marrero Collection, One Little Spark, The Classy Couturier, HauteTEQture, and The Boutique at John’s Gifts.
The evening will also include gourmet dining, premium wine tastings, raffles, and the event’s signature “Shoe Guys”—local ambassadors who add charm and energy to the evening’s festivities.
But beyond the sparkle and sophistication is a powerful mission. Proceeds from the event benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region, which serves youth across Eastern North Carolina by providing essential services that include academic support, mentorship, healthy meals, career exploration, and safe, structured environments.
Serve more than 40,000 healthy meals to children annually
Reach over 1,300 youth through ongoing community outreach
Keep 100% of Club members on track to graduate
Offer exposure to more than 200 career pathways through virtual reality and certificate-based programs
Encourage civic engagement, with 84 Teen Club members contributing over 2,500 volunteer hours
Promote healthy choices and personal safety, with 96% of members making better nutrition decisions and 82% reporting confidence in avoiding gang activity
The impact is felt not only in measurable outcomes but also in the spirit of the event itself. “Wine Women & Shoes is the event of the year in the charming city of Rocky Mount. Pure joy, pure energy, and pure fabulousness—from the fashion show, the vendors, the amazing dinner, the laughter, to the outpour of love... It was everything: inspirational, uplifting, and unforgettable. I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” said Rita Mozell Barrett, a past attendee.
This year’s event is expected to sell out quickly, drawing women (and a few lucky men) from across the region for an unforgettable evening of fashion, fun, and philanthropy. Tickets are available now—don’t miss your chance to be part of this one-of-a-kind celebration that gives back to the community. Proceeds from the event directly support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region and their mission to create opportunities and support systems for local youth.
