UNC Health Nash will enhance healthcare access in the region with the opening of its new urgent care clinic on October 14. Located at 550 N. Winstead Avenue, at the entrance to the UNC Nash campus, the clinic is part of a broader mission to provide quality medical services to Nash County and surrounding areas.

The clinic will operate seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering extended hours for patients aged six months and older. The facility will provide care for non-life-threatening conditions such as minor cuts, sprains, cold and flu symptoms, and more. By serving patients outside typical business hours, the clinic aims to offer a convenient, timesaving alternative to emergency room visits.

With a team of healthcare professionals, including Medical Providers, Certified Medical Assistants, Medical Office Assistants, and Radiology Technologists, the clinic will offer comprehensive care in a walk-in setting. An online scheduling system will be introduced shortly after opening, adding flexibility for patients seeking same-day treatment.

The clinic is also expected to reduce wait times in the emergency department by diverting patients with less critical needs. This move is part of an ongoing effort to improve patient flow and efficiency across the healthcare system. Additionally, a new Emergency Department entrance, currently under construction, is set to enhance patient privacy and expand treatment space.

In line with UNC Health Nash’s commitment to accessibility, the clinic will accept all payment types and provide services regardless of insurance status, although payment will be required at the time of service.
