As the leaves begin to change and the crisp autumn air sets in, the Twin Counties buzz with a vibrant lineup of fall festivals. From Halloween-themed events to craft fairs and food competitions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a guide to the must-attend fall festivals happening in the area, categorized by type of event!
Halloween-Themed Events
-October 19, 2024: Spooktacular Oktoberfest at the Rocky Mount Event Center
The annual Spooktacular is back, and it’s bigger and better than ever! This family-friendly Halloween event promises a day of fun, treats, and spooky surprises for all ages. Stay tuned for a full list of activities that will be happening. This event is from 2-5pm. Don’t miss out on this exciting celebration—we can't wait to see you there!
-October 25, 2024: Trick or Treat Street
Held in downtown Nashville, this is the perfect event for kids and families looking for safe trick-or-treating. From 5:30-7pm, businesses and organizations will offer candy, with a children's costume contest at 6:30pm. The event wraps up with a free drive-in movie screening of Coco at 7pm.
-October 26, 2024: Spooky Sip & Paint, 415 South Wesleyan Boulevard, Rocky Mount, NC
Sip on wine, champagne, and enjoy appetizers as you paint spooky-themed canvases! This event includes a karaoke extravaganza, so bring your friends for a mix of art and music. Costumes are encouraged with a contest, making this a fun, creative evening from 4-8pm.
-October 26, 2024: Boo Bash at Pinspiration in Rocky Mount
A fun, family-friendly day full of crafts and treats for all ages. Costumes are highly encouraged, and details on craft offerings and pricing are to be announced soon!
-October 26, 2024: Halloween Party at Taps on Main in Tarboro
Head to Taps on Main in Tarboro for a Halloween party starting at 7pm and going until late. This event will feature live music, a costume contest, and food trucks, creating the perfect spooky vibe to celebrate Halloween. Taps on Main is located at 203 N Main St, Tarboro.
-October 27, 2024: Trunk or Treat at Rise Church, Nashville Campus
Rise Church is offering a family friendly Trunk or Treat Night from 6-8pm at their Nashville Campus (313 W. Washington Street, Nashville). There will be food, inflatables, trunk-or-treat, and lots of FUN! Wear your family-friendly costumes and make sure to bring your candy buckets!
Food, Drink, & Fall Festivals
-October 6, 2024: Fall Festival at Sandy Cross Methodist Church
Join us at 6 p.m. for an outdoor Fall Festival at Sandy Cross Methodist Church! Enjoy a candy caravan, the traditional cakewalk, and a free dinner for all attendees. Cakewalk tickets are just $1 per round, with proceeds supporting church ministries. Children are welcome to wear costumes, but it’s not required. Come out for an evening of fun and community!
-October 12, 2024: Hobgood Cotton Festival, 207 W Commerce St, Hobgood
Celebrate the region's largest cash crop at the annual Hobgood Cotton Festival! Held on the second Saturday of October, this event offers a full day of fun and festivities from 10am-3pm. Stroll through the town, visit arts and crafts vendors, enjoy food options, and take a cotton trailer ride. There are plenty of games and activities for the kids, along with live musical entertainment throughout the day.
-November 2, 2024: Tarboro Brewgrass Celebration on the River
A family-friendly event featuring blues and bluegrass music while celebrating Eastern NC’s breweries. This festival takes place from 12-5pm by the scenic riverfront at 100 River Road in Tarboro, and offers a relaxed, fun atmosphere for all ages.
-November 16, 2024: 6th Annual Sweet Potato Harvest Festival & BBQ Competition at the Nash County Farmers Market, 1006 Peachtree St, Rocky Mount
Held in honor of the region’s famous sweet potato, this festival takes place from 8am-1pm, and includes contests like the Largest Sweet Potato and Recipe competitions. There’s also a People’s Choice BBQ competition and live music from Shannon Baker and Sometime Soon.
Craft Fairs, Vendor Markets, and Shopping
-October 20, 2024: Fall Craft Fair at Rocky Mount Mills,1151 Falls Road, Rocky Mount, NC
Organized by Pinspiration Rocky Mount, this event supports the Alzheimer's Association and features local handmade artisans, craft beer, and door prizes. There will be food trucks on-site, adding to the festive feel. This event will be from 12-5pm.
-October 26, 2024: Spooktacular at Trash 2 Treasures/NC Beer Factory, South Wesleyan Blvd, Rocky Mount
This mega yard sale will be taking place on October 26-27, 2024, featuring not only yard sale spots but food trucks too! It’s a FREE event with limited spots available. If the summer heat kept you from joining the 301 yard sale, this cooler, fall weekend might be your chance. Michael is the contact for securing spots.
-October 26, 2024: Halloween Market at the Nash County Farmers Market, 1006 Peachtree Street in Rocky Mount
A seasonal market with fresh fall produce, handmade goods, and Halloween festivities. Stay tuned for further details on this event.
-November 23, 2024: Fall Bazaar Vendor Expo at Rose Hill Estate in Nashville, NC
Free admission to this vendor expo allows you to shop from local boutiques, artists, food trucks, and more. Vendors must register by November 7 to secure their spot. This event’s address is 3815 Rose Hill Lane, Nashville, NC, and will take place from 10am-4pm.
