The Twin Counties are packed with holiday events perfect for friends, family, and out-of-town visitors this season! Here’s a roundup of some local favorites, from Friendsgiving celebrations to festive parades and Thanksgiving fun.


Friendsgiving at Koi Pond Brewing Company

Date: November 27 (Night before Thanksgiving)

Location: Koi Pond Brewing Company, Rocky Mount, NC


Kick off the holiday weekend with Friendsgiving at Koi Pond Brewing Company! This annual tradition has become the go-to place for locals and visitors the night before Thanksgiving. The evening will feature live music from local favorites Chandler James and Meredith Davis Johnson, bringing a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Check out the new Smash Burger truck by Tipsy Tomato (directly across from us), and make an evening out of this fun night! Drawing 300-400 attendees, this will be the fourth Friendsgiving with Chandler and Meredith performing, and the sixth Friendsgiving celebration. It’s a fantastic evening to reunite with old friends, enjoy great local music, and celebrate together!


Town of Red Oak Christmas Show & Parade

Date: November 30, 1:00 PM

Location: 4605 N Old Carriage Rd, Rocky Mount, NC


Start your Christmas celebrations with Red Oak’s beloved Christmas Show and Parade. This family-friendly event features a festive parade and live entertainment from The Main Attraction Band. The Christmas show is a perfect outing for all ages and a great way to share in local holiday cheer. Parade-goers can look forward to festive floats, music, and perhaps even a surprise appearance by Santa Claus himself!


Feast Week at HS Howell Farms

Date: November 23-27

Location: HS Howell Farms, 4371 Massey Rd, Zebulon, NC


For the first time ever, HS Howell Farms is hosting Feast Week, an exciting opportunity to stock up on all your Thanksgiving favorites. With bulk orders available for apples, collards, sweet potatoes, greens, and more, Feast Week is a fantastic chance to pick up fresh ingredients for your holiday meals. The farm will also offer pre-orders for items like homemade pies, fudge, and casseroles by Farmer & The Dail, ensuring that your Thanksgiving spread is complete. This is a must-stop for anyone looking to support local while preparing for the holiday feast!


Wilson Gobble Wobble 5K

Date: Thanksgiving Morning (11/28)

Location: Wilson, NC


Get Thanksgiving off to an active start with the Wilson Gobble Wobble 5K and 1-mile family fun run, walk, or wobble! This event, hosted by The Arc of Wilson County, invites people of all ages and abilities to join in. It’s a fantastic family-friendly way to enjoy some morning exercise and build up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner, all while supporting a great cause.
