Acoustic concert to support Nash Arts

TWIN COUNTY MEDIA

This Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m., the Nash County Arts Council (100 East Washington St., Nashville) will present its first-ever "Unplugged," An Acoustic Battle Fundraiser. This show will feature seven talented local musical acts who will compete to raise money for the Nash County Arts Council and have a chance to win $1000.

Each of the participating acts will compete to raise money through a bid collection system. The artists can raise money ahead of the show, but those attending the event can vote by placing a bid for their favorite musical act. The act that raises the most money will win the prize. Bids start at $1 each.

The seven competing acts are:

Ashton Lalyn & the Verdict

Bull Run

David Davis & Tracy Farmer

Kyle Mullins

Mike Clark

Neglektyd Toyz

The Bunn Brothers

A variety of genres will be represented including country music, classic rock, and more. Each act will perform a 20 minute set.

The money donated to the event through bids will help offset the costs of operations and funding required for Nash Arts to host quality events for our area.

In addition to the competitors, Meredith Davis Johnson, another local artist, will emcee the event and provide entertainment.

Tickets to the event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door the day of the show.

"Unplugged," An Acoustic Battle was created to try something new and to substitute for past fundraisers like Nash County’s Got Talent and Dancing with the Arts. Nash Arts Executive Director Shelley Gray says the event is an excellent opportunity to hear three hours of music from some of our area’s most talented artists.

The schedule of events for the upcoming season is now available, and there are several exciting opportunities for camps throughout the summer. Visit Nash Arts’ events page to see a full schedule of upcoming events and opportunities including these events happening at Nash Arts in June:

Nash Arts is an independent non-profit that promotes the arts in our area. If you are interested in supporting its work, become a member to receive benefits and discounts on events. Nash Arts is also looking for board members and committee volunteers.
