The highly anticipated 2024 Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown is back, ready to fill the air with smoky goodness. Hosted at the Rocky Mount Event Center on Friday, October 11, from 5 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday, October 12, from 11am to 6pm, this two-day event promises a sizzling celebration of barbecue, live music, and family fun.

The throwdown will feature over 25 professional cook teams from across the region, all vying for the coveted Grand Championship title. Competitors will showcase their skills in four key categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork, and beef brisket. To qualify for the Grand Championship, teams must compete in all four categories.

But that’s not all! Prizes will also be awarded for individual categories, and attendees will have the opportunity to weigh in on the People’s Choice Competition, voting for their favorite BBQ from the participating teams. With $20,000 in cash prizes and a total of 53 opportunities to win, this competition is as fierce as the flames on the grill.

As a bonus, the Eastern Carolina BBQ Throwdown is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, ensuring the highest standards for competition barbecue.

In addition to the BBQ showdown, the event will offer live music, beer, food vendors, and a range of arts, crafts, and commercial vendors. Families can enjoy kid’s amusements, both inside and outside the Rocky Mount Event Center, ensuring there’s fun for everyone.
