Out-of-this-World Model Robot Making Camp

9 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday-Friday, June 3-7, 2024
Robotic explorers from Earth have visited every planet, as well as numerous moons,
asteroids, and comets in our solar system. With instruction and assistance from
Imperial Centre science education staff, participants 7-12 years of age will create their
own out-of-this-world robot sculpture. Drop-off and pick-up are at the Children’s
Museum and Science Center Classroom. Participants will learn a variety of creative
model building techniques some of which are used by Hollywood special effects
wizards. Techniques explored may include, wire armatures, scratch building, and
kit-bashing. Before taking home their unique creations, participants will have their
work placed in a special short-term public display, in the museum’s Astronomy Gallery,
alongside museum’s Robot Zoo exhibit, already on display. Drop-off and pick-up are at
the Children’s Museum & Science Center Classroom.
(Registration Required: $75/Ages 7-12 Years)
